Anne of Cleves Barn, Great Lodge is a historic wedding venue located in Great Bardfield, Essex. Set within the breathtaking grounds of the Great Lodge Estate, this space is steeped in history and ideal for wedding celebrations. Built under the estate ownership of Anne Of Cleves following her annulment of marriage with King Henry VIII, this Grade I listed brick-and-tile barn has abundant character and charm. 2023 is now fully booked, 2024 is nearly full with just 12th October left. We are now starting to book 2025. Facilities and Capacity Anne of Cleves Barn, Great Lodge is licenced for ceremonies and can seat up to 150 guests for a splendid ceremony and wedding breakfast and up to 200 guests for evening festivities. This venue boasts a beautiful walled garden and extensive grounds, all available for exclusive use during your time at the property. For lovers of the outdoors, ceremonies amongst nature can be arranged beside the lake in their handcrafted green oak wedding pavilion. You can take time to stroll through the gardens, whether you plan to visit the vineyard or feed the alpacas. From croquet on the lawn to fairground stalls, there's plenty to enjoy in this space. Services Offered The family-run team at Anne of Cleves Barn, Great Lodge, aim to be flexible and accommodating with their services. They are happy to cater to your vision, allowing you to source suppliers for the event to ensure the day is as you imagined. They can supply award-winning wine from their vineyard, but you can bring your own, and they will not charge corkage. With exclusive use of the venue, you'll have ample time to prepare for the big day. From early in the planning process to days before the event, you can schedule as many visits to the estate as you'd like. Accommodation At Anne of Cleves Barn, Great Lodge, a night of relaxation is on the cards. The Rose Barn is their luxurious bridal suite for your wedding day and night. They boast three converted barns for self-catering accommodation for up to 12 guests, providing a place for you and your guests to relax after the festivities.
