The ideal venue for your exclusive use, wedding, special occasion function or event. Barley wood is run as a social enterprise by the YMCA, the staff and team will be only too happy to help you and provide an environment and location for your special day. It is first and foremost a private location which gives you a hug as you walk in with its "home from home" feel. You can choose everything at Barley Wood. We have a large collection of the very best local suppliers who are on hand to offer expert advice and help you create the most special of days. We have a wedding license for the ground floor reception rooms and the great hall with a maximum of 100 guests so you can even choose where you get married! And when it comes to the reception, the sky is literally the limit. With uninterrupted views across the Mendip Hills you can enjoy the house, or take over the 2 acres of garden with a marquee for up to 150 guests or explore the 9 acres of woodland, but you might need to change your shoes!
