Drybeck Farm, Armathwaite

Drybeck is Situated just outside the picturesque village of Armathwaite in the heart of the stunning Eden Valley. This lies between the majestic Lake District National Park and the wild moorlands of the Northern Pennines, whilst only being a 20 minute drive from the historic border city of Carlisle. We specialise in weekend wedding celebrations. Parts of the farm date back to the 16th century and the wedding barn is constructed from the distinctive local red sandstone. The beautiful river Eden flows through the farm and provides our more adventurous guests with the opportunity of a wild swim or paddle boarding. Drybeck is the ideal countryside getaway and comes with accommodation in the shape of Glamping, Bell Tents and camping. This ensures you can make the most of the festivities. At Drybeck, you can customise the decoration, from boho chic outdoor weddings to a rustic but elegant barn reception. Our weddings have often been described as “festival style weddings”,though they can be whatever you create. Facilities and Capacity Drybeck Farm features two traditional sandstone barns. This can accommodate indoor celebrations. One barn contains a fully stocked bar and comfortable seating, and the other can be used for ceremonies, indoor dining and dancing the night away. Alternatively, couples can set up a marquee and outdoor entertainment, such as bouncy castles or a live band on the outdoor stage. We are not liscenced tohold legally recognised wedding ceremonies. The venue however is great to hire for receptions or weekend celebrations. Our capacity for weddings is approximately 50 - 180. Services Offered Newly weds and their loved ones exclusively use the farm for the weekend, from Friday afternoon to Monday morning. The celebration can start on Friday evening or take it as a time to relax befor the big day. Everyone will have access to the barns alongside the surrounding lawn and outdoor stage, allowing the festivities to flow indoors and outdoors. You will receive help from the onsite team to plan your big day and coordinate local vendors. They work in a relaxed and informal manner whilst being attetive to your needs without intrusion. Though we are a dog friendly venue management of them onsite will be discussed prior to the event. We provide a variety of quirky, comfortable acoomodations. These include: Six glamping units sleeping up to 22 guests Six bell tents, which sleep a total of 24 people An event field that allows your loved ones to set up additional camping options Our Yurt is perfect for the Wedding Suite fitted with a vanity, full lengh mirror electical outlets and plenty of space for you and your wedding party to get ready. The owners of the business are Paula and Steve. Paula is an interior designer and can provide a decoration service for the barns. ,Steve, is a trained wedding celebrant and can work with you to create a personalized service to mark your special day.
