If the happy couple desires an intimate wedding breakfast with their closest friends and family, The Captain’s Room is available for a sit-down wedding breakfast for up to 26, up to 30 people for a standing reception, and up to 30 for a ceremony. The Commodore’s Room is available for a sit-down wedding breakfast for up to 26, up to 30 people for a standing reception, and up to 30 for a ceremony where newlyweds can celebrate surrounded by neutral decor and Old Master-style paintings. For more flexibility and capacity, each of these rooms can be booked in conjunction with one another. If an outdoor wedding would be preferred, the estate can even provide a marquee upon request. History While the exact date of this venue’s construction is unknown, the first record of Linden House dates back to 1795. After its use as a private residence throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, it became St. Katherine’s College for Girls. In 1913, the property was used as a sport and social club for J. Lyons & Co. Throughout World War II, it was used to support the war effort before eventually returning to its function as a clubhouse. Currently, the property is owned and operated by the London Corinthian Trust. In addition to hosting weddings, it is also a clubhouse for the London Corinthian Sailing Club and the Sons of the Thames Rowing Club.
