Megs Cottage Fudge, Bradford-on-Avon

Megs Cottage Fudge began over 16 years ago in the market town of Bradford on Avon in the 18th-century weaver's cottage named Meg.The fudge is an old Cornish recipe that many say is just like their grandmother used to make.It is snappy, crumbly and melts in the mouth. We use milk, butter and sugar as the base of our fudge and add only the true ingredients. Nothing else.We have progressed from making it in the kitchen of the cottage to a purpose-built wooden cabin in the garden.We have six employees: two cooks, two packers, and two marketing and managing.We sell to outlets including National Trust properties, farm shops, and delicatessens.During Covid-19 times, we have gone out to sell at markets throughout Wiltshire, Somerset, Banes, and Surrey.We, of course, supply the wonderful Taste of Bath hampers, which we are thrilled to be in.Our flavours are developing all the time, and we are constantly adding and improving. We have won over 8 awards at the Great Taste Awards, two of which are 3 gold stars for our Ginger Fudge and our Honey Fudge, and we were winners of the Bath Food Awards Best Confectionist for two years running.Our flavours at present are:Vanilla, Salted, Ginger, Maple & Pecan, Chocolate, Chocolate Mint, Honey, Coffee, Irish Cream Liqueur, Chilli (three strengths), Rum & Raisin, Whisky*, and Christmas Pudding*. (*seasonal)All our fudge is gluten-free, but we also do two varieties of dairy-free fudge:Coconut and Ginger.We make the fudge fresh every week in our professional kitchen and pack it the same week.
