Since 1978, Monnow Valley Studio in Rockfield has been one of the most prestigious recording studios in the world. Artists recording here include Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath, Robert Plant, Simple Minds, Nigel Kennedy, Oasis and Sir Tom Jones. The studio's famous cartwheel doors also provided the backdrop for the cover of Oasis' debut single 'Supersonic' - widely regarded as the track that launched Britpop in the 1990s.Now available as a wedding venue, this famous rock 'n' roll retreat offers you the opportunity to say "I do" in front of 50 guests within the large soundproofed Studio Room. Working alongside our partners at Fresh Food Events, Monnow Valley Studio is the perfect setting for an unusual and distinctive wedding. The glass end of the studio, with its floor-to-ceiling glass walls, vaulted ceiling and hand-carved stone pillars, provides an idyllic backdrop for your ceremony and frames beautiful views of the River Monnow and surrounding countryside. As is befitting for a recording studio, the room takes you seamlessly from day to night with a built-in speaker system and disco lighting. The house contains much memorabilia and photos of artists who have been at the studio over the years and affords a fabulous talking point for your family and friends. Recently refurbished and fully residential, Monnow Valley Studio is fitted with a brand new kitchen, including everything you need for catering, alongside 11 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms (7 en-suite), sleeping up to 24 people. Two connecting en-suite bedrooms are on the ground floor with separate access and are suitable for those with limited mobility.The main lounge, with an adjoining snug, features a large TV complete with streaming services and a log burner. Fibre broadband is available throughout the property. The studio control room, which once housed the mixing desk used by John Lennon in New York, is now a Games and Cinema Room where you can relax playing pool, darts, table tennis and computer games, or watch a movie.Outside is a large patio area with sofas, tables and a Jacuzzi hot tub. Situated 300m down a private lane, the house is bordered on one side by the River Monnow and is surrounded on the other three by mature gardens and trees offering complete privacy. There is ample parking for 16 cars.There are numerous public footpaths on the doorstep for hiking, and the property is just outside what was once the perimeter of the ancestral home of Charles Rolls (founder of Rolls Royce), which now houses The Rolls of Monmouth Golf Club, a short drive away.
