Riverhill Himalayan Gardens is a stately home wedding venue in Sevenoaks, England. Nestled in the stunning Kent countryside, this hidden gem is the perfect setting for your quirky and quintessentially English wedding. Riverhill is a dry-hire venue, so the team provides the backdrop, and you create the rest. They aim to give all couples a relaxed, fun, and unique setting for the happiest of days. Facilities and Capacity Dating back to 1710, Riverhill House is a Grade 2 listed Kentish Ragstone house set within 130 acres of grounds with fantastic views across rolling parkland to the Weald of Kent. A photographer's paradise, the historic grounds feature some interesting formal structures and sculptures set against rare specimen shrubs and trees. Informal planting creates a relaxed and romantic feel to the day, along with many 'wild photo' opportunities with the rolling fields, meadows and viewpoints, and horses and cattle! Ceremonies take place in the secluded and romantic Walled Garden. You will say your vows under the wooded arches of the Himalayan Hut, surrounded by climbing roses and vines. The gorgeous Walled Garden is closed off for your exclusive use, and your caterers can set up, ready to greet you with bubbly and canapés. The Walled Garden has sculptural lawn terraces with a central water feature and fountains. It is the ideal spot for your guests to mingle and relax while taking in the breathtaking views over the Weald of Kent. Couples usually spend a couple of hours in the Walled Garden, maybe using the time to slip away for some romantic photographs around the gardens. They then lead their guests along our Rose Walk and down to the Old Tennis Lawn, where the marquee is waiting. The vast lawn has room for even the most elaborate marquee setup. There will be ample space for seating outside or games. You have views over the Weald on one side and the imposing Riverhill House on the other. The recently restored Summer House overlooking the lawn is a perfect little chill-out area; feel free to decorate it however you like. Services Offered While Riverhill's beautiful surroundings set the tone, the venue offers you the flexibility to create your unique wedding day, selecting your marquee and caterer, providing your own wines and drinks, and choosing your band, disco, or entertainment. The team will provide you with a list of highly recommended vendors, but if you have something specific in mind, you are welcome to introduce them to someone new at an additional charge. Usually, the marquee goes up first thing on Thursday, giving you plenty of time to decorate before the big day. You will have your own gate code during this time, free to come and go as you please. Once you have booked with Riverhill, you are welcome to visit as often as you like with your friends and family and enjoy getting to know the Gardens. As they are open to the public, you can revisit your venue after your wedding and enjoy sharing those happy memories for years to come; the perfect anniversary picnic venue!
