Royal West of England Academy is a historic venue in the heart of Bristol City, England. This spectacular Grade II listed building is Bristols oldest art gallery bringing world-class visual art from around the world since 1844. With beautifully constructed interiors filled with natural light, these 19th-century galleries have housed works from the big names in British Art, including Turner, Constable, Nash, and Grayson Perry. The building has recently completed an impressive transformation, opening access for all and providing opportunities for everybody to get creative and feel inspired.
Facilities and Capacity
This one-of-a-kind Bristol venue is the perfect setting for romantic celebrations with up to 120 seated guests, 220 standing guests. The spectacular galleries are available for exclusive hire, allowing you complete privacy with your loved ones. This includes access to an impressive marble landing, breath-taking atrium and spacious balcony with views across the historic area of Clifton. Royal West of England Academy
Services Offered
Royal West of England Academy strives to create a sophisticated experience from start to finish. Beginning with an initial meeting and walkthrough, your dedicated events manager will work closely with you, offering advice and support. With plenty of experience planning various events, they are happy to provide access to their preferred vendors, including their award-winning caterer, Papadeli. This culinary team will work closely with you to craft the perfect menu, whether you prefer canapes or a lavish feast. Included in their canape package are six small dishes per person, five hours of support staff, sparkling wine upon guest arrival, table wine, and all tableware and linens.
Please Note: We are no longer able to accomodate dancefloors in the gallery and are not licensed for wedding ceremonies, only receptions. Seated dinners are subject to which exhibition we host at the time of your requested date. We cannot always remove artworks to accomodate furniture.
Pease note that there are some restrictions to the decorations that we can allow in the galleries as a Grade II* listed building as well as the exhibition on show at the time, but we will always talk through what is possible so dont hesitate to let us know all your ideas.
