The Guardhouse, situated as you walk onto the Royal Arsenal is one of the staple parts of Woolwich's history, being a listed building. It is also a short walk away from Woolwich registry office it is the ideal venue for your wedding reception boasting rooms for between 15 and 100 people. You can also access the River just 5 minutes away. Facilities and Capacity We have three rooms available for private hire. The Glasshouse, The Mess bar and the Avairy. The Supreme Mess can also be hired which is the two smaller rooms combined with access through a set of double doors. The Avairy The Avairy is the smallest room, which can hold 20 people seated and then 35 standing. The room can be set for a sit down meal and then transformed into a dance floor or served buffet style for all your loved ones to enjoy. With its large glass doors, this space is bright and light with an added dash of elegance. It's the perfect venue for engagement parties, small wedding receptions, corporate meetings, or even kid's parties. The Mess Bar Accommodates 30 seated or 45 standing. The Mess is an exceedingly comfortable and cosy space with its own bar, fireplace, oversized armchairs, and quirky decor. It is the perfect setting for a wedding reception, where you can enjoy your own bartender, set up pay as you go bar or even set aside a bar tab for your family and friends to enjoy. You can set up a head table and smaller tables surrounding, or set up a buffet table and have your guests stand and enjoy the views from the porch area which you will have full access to. You will also have access to the sound system which you can use your own spotify or just use ours! The Supreme Mess (Avairy and Mess) If you want something slightly bigger than just the Avairy or Mess, you are able to hire both rooms. They are ajoined together by large doors which can be opened to make the room much larger. You can have tables set in both rooms, or dedicate one room to food and drinks and the other for your dance floor! Feel free to hire your own DJ and get your boogie on in one of the rooms! Or use your spotify playlist to enjoy your first dance together on the beautiful mosaic flooring in the Avairy! The Glasshouse The Glass House seats 60 or hosts 100 standing guests. The most substantial room, the Glass House is a breath-taking space filled with light and colours complementing the magnificent views of the adjacent gardens. The room can easily be tailored to your needs, from a full-on dining room to an extravagant dance floor. You even have the option of spilling out onto the outside decking area, perfect for those warm summer evenings. Services Offered Perhaps you'd like a cosy, intimate gathering in the Mess Bar with a roaring fire or a lavish celebration in the spacious, light-filled Glass House. The Guard House's staff will have the ideal package for you, with a menu that highlights the best of fresh, seasonal ingredients. These event experts offer the perfect mix of laid-back style and old fashioned elegance. The only limit is your imagination!
