Description
The Knighton Hotel is a Grade II listed wedding venue in Knighton, Powys. Built in 1867, this is one of the most historically significant hotels still standing serenely and proudly in the heart of the ancient market town of Knighton on the hills of the Welsh Marches.
The Knighton Hotel is a stone-built Manor House adjoining a half-timbered building. The next-door wooden structure can be traced back to a weather-boarded Coaching Inn built in the 16th century. Much effort has been made to restore and highlight the original features, such as the timbers belonging to the same era. The stone building features a breathtaking and majestic red-carpeted staircase, one of a kind in the country, leading to the upper floor. The double-height ceiling and the galleried landing, together with stone walls in part and timber beams, add to the grandiose and exclusivity of the architecture. At the rear of the hotel, you will also find two timber decks.
You are invited to witness the beauty and history of this incredible building. The uncontested legacy, ideal location, and the many historic features of the hotel will undoubtedly make for a perfectly memorable stay in Knighton.
