We are an experienced 4 piece wedding, function and party cover band based in York and available to hire across Yorkshire and Humberside.
We play well known rock, pop, indie and party covers. We offer you a friendly and reliable service alongside an energetic, fun and infectious performance.
With over 10 years experience as a wedding band we'll work with you to make your celebration unforgettable. We know it's not our gig, it's your night. Get in touch to discuss your perfect event.
Our standards rate* includes:
- Up to 2 hours of Live Music. E.g. 2x60, 3x40 or 2x45 minute sets.
- Request a song. We will learn and perform one request for you (usually the first dance).
- Professional sound system. Our sound system can cater for up to 200 guests.
- LED Lighting for the band and dance floor. - Public Liability Insurance and PAT certificates.
- 'iPad DJ in between and after sets, run via Spotify Premium so you can select the music you want ahead of your reception. - 6.00pm Arrival/Set-up and 12.00am Finish/Break-down.
* Our standard rate is 995 plus travel from our base in York charged at a fixed rate per mile.

What sort of music do you play?
- We cover everything from Elvis to Girls Aloud
- and The Beatles to Amy Winehouse.I suppose you’d call it rockpopindiesoulnroll… it’s basically back to back tunes that you and your friends will all know and love. Our set covers the last 60 years [at least!]
- and every song is a classic.
Our venue has asked if you are insured and if your equipment has been tested?
- We have public liability insurance and all of our electrical equipment has been tested
- we can supply all the paperwork your venue needs.
How loud is the band?
- We can be as loud or as quiet as you need us to be. We’re used to working in venues with strict volume controls and we’ve never had any problems; but if you want us to turn it up
- we’re happy to do that too!
What about PA and lights?
- We provide our own PA and stage lights. Our sound system is suitable for most small and medium-sized events [upto 150 guests]. For larger events
- or events in unusual venues
- please get in touch and we can discuss your requirements.
Can The Players play our first dance?
- We’d love too! All we ask is you give us as much notice as possible – if you leave it to less than a month before the event its unlikely we’ll be able to accommodate your request. We’ll give anything a go
- but we are a four piece band with female vocals
- so there’s little chance of us pulling off a Barry White number!
How long does the band need to set up?
- Ideally we need 60-90 minutes to set up.
